SPIRAL CELLARS COLLABORATES WITH LEADING
SOMMELIER VINCENT GASNIER
The purchase of a Spiral Cellar is the start of a new adventure into the world of a dedicated wine collector. Many new Spiral Cellars owners already have an impressive wine collection, but wish to expand and learn more - what wine to buy and how to buy it, how to catalogue their collection and seek advice on when to drink certain vintages and how long to keep others.
Spiral Cellars has now joined forces with the world’s youngest ever Master Sommelier, Vincent Gasnier for just this reason. Every Spiral Cellars client will be offered Vincent’s expertise as a wine consultant to assist in getting them started with their cellar, as well as maintaining and making the best of their wine collection. Vincent will be on hand to visit clients’ homes, accompanied with samples for tasting, to assess their preferences and establish whether they would like to try new wines and broaden their pallet. He will establish their annual consumption and drinking habits such as drinking at home, entertaining and hosting special occasions. He will work out a budget and plan a cellar collection for the next say five to 10 years. Vincent will even buy the wine for them if they so wish.
Vincent’s company, Vincent Gasnier Wine Consultant Ltd offers a range of services to private and corporate clients including wine advice and purchase, cellar management, VIP wine events and exclusive wine tours. As well as advising for the Houses of Parliament, Soho House, Babington House, and Electric House, Vincent advises on events such as HRH Prince of Wales’ Charity Polo Challenge, and acts as wine consultant to Descent International Ltd for the provision of luxury chalets in
Vincent has featured as a wine consultant on ITV’s This Morning programme, and has acted as a judge for many wine magazines and for the Master Sommelier Examination. He has also contributed to the Guide des Sommeliers, 2000 & 2001, Fleurus Editions. Vincent has published worldwide his first book, Drinks and is working on his next release with Dorling Kindersley for Autumn 2006.
The concept behind Spiral Cellars is a very simple but ingenious one – the Spiral Cellars team will come to any property with a ground floor, dig a large 2m wide circular hole and then drop in a prefabricated circular cellar. The cellar can be sunk in the kitchen, sitting room, garage or conservatory and takes only five days to construct from start to finish. This is a passive system that will run in the event of a power cut, will require no maintenance and adheres to The Wine Society best practice guidance for storage; cool, humid, vibration free and steady temperature all year round. There are different sizes of cellar, from the Mini Cellar, which can store up to 770 bottles, to the larger Spiral Cellar which will store 1600 bottles.
